How are Customers Actually Using Your Site?

The first step to improving your website is to understand what is ineffective, confusing, or missing. Without getting user perspectives, your "wish-list" items are just a shot in the dark.

The Foundations of Website UX

The idea is to make changes that actually matter in the goal of increasing revenue.

  • Research User Data

We take a deep dive into the numbers to determine where a change would be most impactful.

  • Gather Usability Feedback

We reveal points of confusion from those to whom it matters the most: your potential customers.

  • Understand Behavior Patterns

We observe user activity under curated circumstances to uncover patterns and trends.

  • Execute Impactful Change

We prioritize the updates that are the most efficient use of resources to bring you business success.

Our 5-Step Process:

Website UX FAQs

We don't rely on hunches or intuition, and instead focus on what we can learn from experiments, tests, and analysis. Rather than trying to prove our ideas are right, we seek to provide multiple viable options or ask open-ended questions to allow the users to show what's best. We just sit back and learn, uncovering the best steps to take directly from the source.

Yes, every website can benefit from conversion rate optimization. The specific tactics that we deploy will depend on the site, the traffic, the number of conversions, and how you make money online — whether you have an ecommerce site, a SaaS site, or a lead generation site.

An experiment involves creating alternate designs on your live website that are only visible to certain users, allowing us to measure which performs best using statistics. A test is limited to interaction with your site as it currently exists, allowing us to identify user patterns or to directly solicit feedback for further analysis.

Two ways: ongoing review and by extrapolation from experimentation. By tracking your conversions and how they tie to revenue (if you don't sell things directly on the site), we can estimate the impact based on your site activity and assess it on a regular basis. After running experiments, we can ballpark the expected lift based on the statistics.

"Results" are determined by milestones we set together during our partnership, so there is no 1-size-fits-all timeline. We may determine a tangible result to be a percentage increase in leads/sales, the launch of a new product feature, or aggregate user data in a specific area of focus.

Depending on what we are trying to learn and how, it could be a matter of days, weeks, or months to obtain the "result" of a project. Different methods require varying amounts of time to gather data and technical implementation is dependent on the complexity of the site infrastructure and degree of change.

We work in a collaborative manner, so we design our approach to seamlessly be integrated into your existing workflow. Generally we would say that your team can be involved as much as you are equipped to be if you wish. In some client relationships, we've worked alongside their internal teams of developers, designers, marketing directors, and project managers. In other instances, the GBDA team has operated in its own ecosystem, where all that is needed is a point of contact.

The workflow is flexible and entirely tailored to your needs and the type of project we are working on. But regardless, the main component shared by every relationship is simply open communication.
