Product Design FAQs
In addition to our personalized method of being a part of your team, we approach projects holistically. This is to say we take every aspect within the entire ecosystem into account, and understand they interact with each other. We will coordinate with business founders and executives, key stakeholders, engineering teams, marketing departments, current and potential customers, and anyone else remotely involved in the initiative. It is essential for all these moving pieces to interconnect and communicate seamlessly.
The way we work is collaborative. We do not come into the process claiming to know the answers to everything, but we do help facilitate the discovery process to make sure, together, we are finding the answer to the right questions.
The short answer is BOTH. The overall relationship can be looked at as us helping you get from Point A to Point B. A lot of that is research and strategy based, but we are also very flexible in the way we work and can fill in gaps where needed, depending on your operations.
When it comes to service deliverables, in most of our arrangements, we would be providing detailed user research reports, strategy outline documents, UX/UI design, and prototypes.
We offer a number of different ways to work together and our contract would also be completely tailored to your needs and timeline. We can do a month-to-month retainer basis (recommended) or project basis, without ever locking you into a long-term contract.
All of our contracts are completely flexible and can be altered to suit your specific needs or requests.
The most common reason products fail when brought to market is the lack of a solid foundation and strategy from the start. Many companies rush to "just get it to market," bringing an idea straight to developers without proper groundwork.
Without user research, a clear list of functional requirements, prototyping, and beta testing, user experience issues often emerge only after launch. Fixing these issues post-launch is FAR more expensive than addressing them during the design phase due to high development costs. Additionally, early users are disappointed by a sub-optimal experience and may switch to competitors, potentially leaving negative reviews.
As companies scramble to redesign while the product is live, the mounting costs can be overwhelming, making it difficult to convince investors of the product's potential return on investment.
Even if you have a great idea, people will not want to use it if the experience is even remotely unintuitive. So the real investment is making sure that does not happen and fixing all the potential issues before launching.
While we do have a highly skilled dev team, our expertise lies in Custom Website Development, typically focusing on the site that sells the product rather than the product itself. Developing a software product or platform is far more technically demanding, which is why many companies opt to outsource this work to an offshore team.
Our role would involve coordinating with this external dev team to ensure they receive designs with the exact specifications needed for an accurate build. We also manage quality assurance, oversee precision, and address technical issues throughout the process. Since the success of the initial launch is critical, being involved from the start allows us to prioritize ensuring everything works flawlessly.
